Scare of My Life

Sunday is a day of rest right, well not at the Jacobs home last night there was no resting. I had gone to dinner at my dad's house like we do every Sunday. When we got there all was well Cason was happy and playing. He started to act a little sick I picked him up and I could tell he had a fever. We then headed home and while we were driving home Cason had throwen up. I got him and the kids in the house when Cason started throwing up all over the floor. I quickly woke Dave up and had him give Cason a bath, and that is where our night changed. While Cason was in the bath he fell hit his head on the tub. I heard Cason gagging so I went in to check up on Dave and Cason to find that Cason was having a seizure. I panicked, Dave calmly said call 911. So I ran to get his phone could not figure out how to use his phone gave him the phone and he called 911. While he was on the phone Cason did stop seizing but was not responsive. The paramedics came. They took Cason and started working on him. In the mean time I ran next door to our amazing neighbors and asked them to take our other 3 kids. The paramedics were on top of everything with Cason. He had a temperature of 102.7 they took him in the ambulance with me as well to the hospital. They wanted to make sure he was ok. I will just tell you that having to see your 19 month old child in a neck brace and on a stretcher is the most heart wrenching feeling ever. When we got to American Fork Hospital they were quick to give him attention and they never let me leave his side. I was there through all the test. Dave followed the ambulance to the hospital. While we were there we were worried that they may keep him overnight so we called our good friends the Woolfs and Anne. We had Anne go stay with our kids. They gave him blood test and x-ray and a cat scan while he was there. They found out that there were no head injuries and that he had children's bronchitis. I will say he did not show any signs of having this. He was not coughing and did not have a fever until we were at my dads house and after dinner. They gave him some antibiotics and sent us home. When we were ready to leave the hospital Cason was smiling and laughing and so excited to see his sister. While he was being poked and prodded he would cry and I would show him his sisters picture on his dad's phone and he would calm down. He would not let go of the phone cause he could see his sister. When we were getting ready to leave the nurse asked him where is your sister and he showed her the phone and the nurse asked what is her name and he said liva. We are home and watching him. Once you have a high temperature seizure you are more likely to have another. So we have to watch him closely. We are all ok and doing well. I just want to say thanks to the D'Argys and Woolfs and Anne and our bishop for all the support and help. I am also thankful that this happened on one of Dave's nights off cause I would have been a wreck.
